I am keen to develop my work in audio, soundwalking and soundscapes by developing a 3d printing practice that activates objects, fills them full of social history contact that can be scanned by phone, and sends them out into the community for dialogue and interaction.

Examples

Engaging a community with mining history in the Pennines, by leaving NFC tagged steel ingots in pubs and shops

By leaving replica steel ingots in the local area of a historic mining area, a chance encounter with the archived history of specifical Pennines' mining sites: Rookhope Arch, Shildon Engine House, Brandon Walls Mine) in the North Pennines National Landscape, creating a dialogue between present and past.

Exchanging letters between past and present at Berwick Barracks

By disseminating NFC tagged archive letters into the local community in a vintage postbag associated with soldier's letter deliveries, allowing local people to encounter them in shops, pubs and other areas - and to respond with letters of their own to be passed on through locations.
