The Loathesome Worm

A soundwalk project exploring Sunderland folk myths

My friend and co-producer Steven Chell and I developed a series of workshops for young people exploring the myth of The Lambton Worm, sound design and foley sound effect creation.

This material was published at Sunderland's major landmark, Penshaw Monument, allowing visitors to walk the local area and listen to the tale of the Lambton Worm with narration and sound effects created by young people in Washington.
We delivered the work with help from storyteller Mica Hind, soudn designer Jayne Dent and film maker Ste Bardgett. The project was funded by Sound and Music.
